Margaret Blackwood Helping Hands Award 2015

REMEMBERING MARGARET

We are launching this award in Margaret Blackwood’s honour, who founded our organisation and our communities over 40 years ago. Her vision of helping people live independent lives is one we continue to believe in to this day. We know that good neighbours and thoughtful individuals can play an important role in ensuring that this legacy continues, by giving others that extra bit of help that makes life easier or more enjoyable.

This new award gives you the opportunity to pay tribute to someone who has made your community a better place.

THE RULES

  • As long as they are a Blackwood customer – living in one of our homes or receiving our care – you can put their name forward. They should also not be being paid to provide the service for which they are being nominated.
  • Nominations can come from Blackwood customers or staff, but you cannot nominate yourself or one of your relatives, and we can only accept a maximum of 2 nominations per person.

Please use the  Helping Hands Award Form.pdf [pdf] 474KB  for further information and to send in your nomination.

The closing date for nominations is Friday 28th August 2015.

The winner, and two runners up, will be presented with their awards at Blackwood’s AGM on Tuesday 15th September at Dynamic Earth in Edinburgh.

Just had a lovely visit from Jenny Gardner to present Gary & I with 1st prize in the
Helping Hands Award. We are absolutely delighted to receive this but do what we do because we love helping and being part of such a great community.
We would both like to thank Blackwood and all the tenants at Abbey Court for this lovely surprise.
