£24,937 - £26,959 per annum pro rata
We are looking for a confident, and enthusiastic Volunteer Coordinator to develop and run our volunteering programme.  Initially starting the programme in our West Regional Office in Glasgow, the Volunteer Coordinator will work across the 3 regions to develop and co-ordinate our Volunteering Programme.
Working with the volunteering project team and reporting to the Head of Human Resources & Organisational Development, this is an exciting opportunity to use volunteers to help people to live more independently. We currently don’t have a volunteering programme in place so we’re looking for someone who can shape the role, define our policies, and enable our volunteering programme to get off to a flying start. 
Your work will be varied including building partnerships with other volunteering programmes and charity partners, recruiting and training volunteers, supporting funding applications, and working with our services to identify where volunteers can help more people lead independent lives. The funding we have received is to help us develop our volunteering approach in 3 key areas:
  • Digital Inclusion – volunteers will help increase the digital skills of our customers, encouraging them to grow in confidence in their approach to digital technology, particularly in care
  • Social time and Befriending – digital inclusion will result in a decrease in social isolation, particularly for our tenants and care at home customers and using volunteers within our care homes will boost social time for our residents
  • Home and garden – volunteers will support our customers in the day-to-day aspects of their life, such as keeping their home and garden up to a good standard
The right person for this role will have some understanding of volunteering within the charity sector, be an organised self-starter who’s able to work using their own initiative, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and have the ability to build long term positive relationships.
