Congratulations are in order for our recent success at the Scottish Care Awards in Glasgow where we were awarded a certificate for being a finalist in the "Innovative Practice Award Category". Angela Currie, Housing and Care Director alongside Colin Foskett, Head of Innovation and one of Blackwood's board members Abrar Hameed went along to accept the award and enjoy the celebrations.
Congratulations also goes to North Housing Officer, Laura Henry, for her part in winning with NETRALT (North East Tenants, Residents and Landlords Together) – a tenant participation group in Aberdeen.
The category was for The Involving All Award which was highly innovative as Laura hosted a radio show to try and engage with young people about housing. Radio One look out!
We also would like to wish two of our very own employees the best of luck this upcoming Saturday (10th June 2017). Charles Tippet (North Region) and Douglas Mutrie (West Region) have been nominated for the “Tenant Participation Champion” at the TIS National Excellence Awards. This award recognises the outstanding contribution of an individual staff member to develop effective tenant participation and empower tenants and service users.
Last but not least, we are delighted to be on the shortlist for the “Innovation in Design” award in the Scottish Home Awards. Simon Fitzpatrick our Strategic Development Director will be heading along to the ceremony to represent Blackwood.
Great to see recognition for Blackwood, well done and good luck!
