He founded his own consultancy business in 2011 providing policy development and strategic management services and support. His clients include the Scottish Government, Audit Scotland, Health Boards, Local Authorities, the University of the Highlands and Islands and its academic partners.

Lesley Beddie

Leslie Beddie

Experience: Achieving business improvement and change through technology  as Director of IT at University of Durham, working with Scottish Parliament and in IT consultancy. Leslie’s earlier career was in education working in universities, Board member of both BECTA and Learning and Teaching Scotland where the focus was on using IT to enhance learning.

Peter Moir

Experience: Peter has spent 40 years working in the international oil business and has held very senior positions in offshore production, strategy development, project finance and in commercial negotiations. He has also been in charge of stakeholder engagement and joint venture governance for a complex oil field development in the Caspian Sea in Kazakhstan. Peter has been a non executive director for an UK AIM listed hard minerals company for 7 years.

Julie McDowell

Experience: Julie has worked at senior level in responsible and sustainable investment for the last twenty years. Previously she practised law in both the private and public sector in New York and Washington, DC. She is an experienced non-executive Director and Chair. Julie served as a non-executive director of NHS Lothian, where she chaired the Audit & Risk Committee, was the Vice Chair of the Integrated Joint Board for health and social care in West Lothian and a board member of the Integrated Joint Board for health and social care in Midlothian.

Experience: Lorna has worked in local authority social work and housing for the past 28 years.  As a senior manager she has led strategic planning and commissioning for health and social care, and housing management and operations.  She is currently Head of Strategic Commissioning and Organisational Development with Perth and Kinross Council.

Experience: Tom is a Senior Project Manager with Turner & Townsend in Edinburgh. He has extensive experience of successful project delivery via collaborative teamwork, effective stakeholder management, risk management and change management.

Derek Croll

Derek Croll

Experience: Derek is a senior Finance professional with over 30 yrs experience and currently Head of Financial Resources at the Scottish Parliament. Previous management roles include Scottish and Southern Energy, Dixons Stores Group, and the Property Unit Trusts since qualifying as a CA with KPMG. Derek’s skills include corporate governance, strategic planning, performance reporting and change management.

Louise Haggerty

Experience:

Louise is a Senior HR professional with over 30 years experience in various sectors. Over her career Louise has held senior positions in Royal Bank of Scotland, National Australia Bank, Roche Pharmaceuticals and Digital Equipment Ltd. Her most recent role was as Interim HR Director for Police Scotland. Louise’s roles have focused heavily on leading major business transformation and enabling culture change in large organisations.

Experience: Ian is an experienced Finance Director with strong commercial experience offering strategic and operational direction. Having worked over a number of sectors, Ian has a proven record at driving improvement and growth. He is currently working as a Chief Operations Officer at Drummond Miller LLP.

Martin Hensman

Experience: Martin has worked in Development and Construction for over twenty years and leads the development team at Hub South East. The bulk of his experience is gained from the delivery of large, complex, public private housing led regeneration initiatives, and Health and Education PPP infrastructure projects.

David Melvin

David Melvin Joined Board: March 2017


Experience: David, who is now retired, from the role as Managing Director of Cordia LLP  which is a multi service provider of care at home and facilities management to Glasgow City Council and other public bodies. He now carries out a role as a Business Mentor on behalf of The Chamber of Commerce and Scottish Enterprise and has extensive experience at a senior level of managing large diverse workforces in both the public and private sector.

Karen Moore

Experience: Karen’s experience spans over 20 years in the third sector, most recently as CEO with Scottish Waterways Trust; specialising in leading complex situations, partnerships and teams, culture change management, income diversification and sustainability, developing resilient leadership, business strategy and behavioural change. Karen’s earlier career was with Action for Children and Barnardo’s Scotland. She has served on several Boards in a Non-Executive capacity including The Dalriada Project Company and Eczema Outreach Scotland.

Fiona Thwaites

Fiona Thwaites Joined Board: March 2019


Experience

Fiona worked in local authority housing for over 20 years. The majority of Fiona’s housing career was part of North Ayrshire Council. Initially front line, she progressed into Quality & Performance management. Whilst working with North Ayrshire Council, Fiona was coordinator of a Care and Repair project for assisting older and disabled home owners to organise repairs and access adaptations. Fiona took early retirement due to her health and now a wheelchair user finds it interesting to see it from both sides. As a board member she hopes to help as she has a direct understanding of some of the issues.
